Vetpod and DVD equipment

Our online user guides are designed to aid you through the first stages of your system settup.

Vetpod System.
Your installation is complete and you are ready to start using your newly installed Vetpod system. By reading the Vetpod Quick Start Guide you'll be up and running in no time.
If you are installing your own Vetpod equipment please read our Vetpod Installation Guide.

Existing DVD System.
By reading the DVD Quick Start Guide you'll be up and running in no time. To keep your DVD system working smoothly please read the DVD Equipment Care Guide.

If you have a problem, please refer to our DVD Trouble Shooting Guide. This will assist you in solving common DVD problems.




DVD Quick Start Guide
Playing your Programme
 

Step 1
Insert your DVD programme disc.

  1. Press Eject button on the front of the DVD player or the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control.
  2. Place the DVD disc in the centre of the tray printed side up.
  3. Press the Eject button on the front of the player or OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control.
  4. The LED display on the front of the DVD player will show “LOAD” or "LOADING".

The DVD will automatically start to play.

If the DVD fails to play automatically, press the PLAY button on the DVD Player. If this does not solve the problem, please visit our trouble shooting section

Setting Repeat Play

Note:This function will only work when the programme is playing.

  1. Check the programme is playing on your TV screen.
  2. If the programme is not playing press the PLAY button on the DVD Player or remote control.
  3. On the DVD Player remote control press the REPEAT button once.*
  4. At the same time the caption “Title” will appear in the top right hand corner of the TV screen.

The programme will now repeat until the DVD is stopped or turned off. This procedure will need to be carried out every time you restart your programme playing.

DVD Equipment Care
Good Practice

To prolong the life of your system it is highly recommended that you do the following:

Your DVD Player

  • Turn off the Player when your practice is closed. Failure to do this will result in un-necessary wear on the internal parts and may cause your player to malfunction.
  • DO NOT place objects on top of the DVD player.
  • DO NOT push the DVD tray closed when inserting your DVD disc.
  • DO NOT play any other DVD disc unless you have a licence to do so. Read more
  • Do try to keep the area around the DVD Player as dust free as possible.

  • Turn off the screen when your practice is closed.
  • Do Not tune your TV screen to receive any external TV or satellite channel. Read more




DVD Player Installation
Set up and connectivity guide.


The following explains the process of installing and connecting either a new or replacement DVD player to a TV screen.

You will need the following parts:
1x DVD player
1x AV cable or scart cable

Step 1

  1. Situate the DVD player on a flat surface.
  2. Connect the AV cables to the rear of the DVD player as shown here.

    In Socket
    Connect the Red or White Lead (s) to the Red or White socket (s) marked AUDIO LEFT, AUDIO RIGHT within the socket group AV OUTPUT

    Connect the Yellow Video Phono lead to the Yellow Video Phone socket, marked Video Out.

If the DVD player is situated next to the TV screen you can connect the DVD player to the TV screen via a Scart to Scart cable as shown here.

Please refer to the user manual supplied with your DVD player for more information on connecting to a TV.

TV Installation
Set up and connectivity guide.

The following explains the process of connecting or re-connecting a pre-installed TV screen to a DVD player.

Connection
If the TV screen supports Video-in and Audio-in Phono sockets at the rear it is possible to connect the AV cable directly. Where this is not possible the installation of a Scart to phono adaptor is necessary.

Step 1

Connect the AV cables to the rear of the TV screen as shown here.

In Socket
Connect the Scart adaptor to the TV's Scart socket, usually marked (scart, AV 1 or External)

If optional, the input/output switch on the scart adaptor should be set to input.

In Socket
Connect the Red or White Phono Lead (s) to the Red or White Phono socket (s) on the scart adaptor.

In Socket
Connect the Yellow Video Phono lead to the Yellow Video Phono socket on the scart adaptor.


Step 2

Now that you have connected both the DVD and the TV screen you will need to select the correct input source.

  1. Switch on your DVD player and TV screen.
  2. On the TV control panel or on the remote control press the SOURCE button.
    Every time the button is pressed the TV will switch between inputs. The channel indicator in the top right hand corner of the TV screen shows which input is currently selected.
  3. Repeat this process until the signal from the DVD player is found.

This will need to be repeated if the TV is turned off or the signal from the DVD player is lost for a length of time.

Please refer to the manufacture's user manual supplied with your TV screen for more information on connecting to a DVD Player and wall mounting.

 


DVD Trouble shooting

Abnormal function operation

  1. Turn off the power, and turn on again.


The programme disc will not play
.

  1. Check the disc surface for dust, fingerprints or scratches. Clean the disc surface with a soft cloth in a circular direction starting from the centre and working outward.
  2. Insert the disc, turn the power off and then back on.
  3. Insert your old disc as a test. If your old disc plays correctly please contact us and we will issue you with a replacement disc.


The Programme disc is locked in the tray.

  1. If the disc ca not be taken out of the tray when the player is reading, you must turn the player off then turn on again and press the OPEN/CLOSE button immediately to eject the disc.
    If the DVD player tray does not eject the disc please contact: vetchannelsupport@numed.co.uk


The DVD is playing but there is no picture or sound on the TV.

  1. Check the leads are correctly connected to the back of the DVD player. Read more
  2. Check the Leads are correctly connected to the TV. Read more.
  3. Check the correct AV source is selected on the TV. Read more

The TV has a picture but no sound.

  1. Check the volume on the TV is set correctly. Volume / mute using the remote control.
  2. Check the Audio leads are connected correctly to the back of the DVD player. Read more
  3. Check the Leads are correctly connected to the TV. Read more


The TV has sound but no picture.

  1. Check the video lead is correctly connected to the back of the DVD player. Read more
  2. Check the video Lead is correctly connected to the TV. Read more
  3. Test the system with another DVD disc.


The programme plays but the picture is breaking up or freezes.

  1. Check the disc surface for dust, fingerprints or scratches. Clean the disc surface with a soft cloth in a circular direction starting from the centre and working outward.
  2. Test the system with another DVD disc.


The programme plays but the picture is black and white or the screen is rolling.

  1. Check the AV channel is selected on the TV. Read more
  2. Test the system with another DVD disc.
  3. Check the video lead is correctly connected to the back of the DVD player. Read more
  4. Slowly rock the video lead on the back of the DVD player. If this makes the picture flash or return to colour please contact us as there may be a fault with the lead itself.


The remote control is insensitive or does not work

  1. Check the batteries, make sure they have good conductivity with the terminals.
  2. Replace the batteries.
  3. From a closer range, direct the remote control at the front of the DVD player.


DVD player will not repeat play

  1. Make sure the DVD programme is playing and not displaying the DVD menu.
  2. From a closer range, direct the remote control at the front of the DVD player.
  3. Check the batteries, make sure they have good conductivity with the terminals.
  4. Replace the batteries.

Not all DVD players have a repeat buttont. Please refer to the manufacture's user manual supplied, for information on setting the Repeat Play function on your model.

  1. The DVD player will not turn on.
  2. The TV will not turn on.
  3. The DVD tray on the DVD player will not open when the eject button on the player or OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control are pressed.
  4. The DVD player LED display shows the message “ERR”.
  5. Your Practice is burning down!! Joking. For that we advise you call 999 and ask for the fire department.
